Meet
Judith and Leanne!
When was your business born?
Our business was born in 1997 after the birth of
Leanne’s daughter Romy in South Africa and my son
Jacob in Canada.
Why was your business born?
When Jacob was 3 months old, we decided to visit
South Africa to introduce our son to my husband’s
family and his great grandmother. During our stay
with family we arranged to go away on a long weekend
with his oldest friend from nursery school and their
new baby Romy. Being new parents we compared notes
on sleepless nights, eating habits and all the baby
products we could not live without! One of the
products Derek and Leanne told us about was the
Daphné Bath Seat.

Splish Splash
A wet baby can be as slippery as a bar of soap.
That’s why baby baths were invented. The
Daphné Bath
Seat differs from most infant bathing devices; it’s
not a little tub that you put water in, it’s a
contoured seat that sits in the water. The Daphné is
compact enough to fit into most sinks or infant
bathtubs, and its unique contoured design holds the
baby securely in a semi-reclined position without
the need for a seat belt (never leave babies
unattended in any kind of bath). An adjustable
side-stop that sits between the baby’s legs can be
moved up or down according to the size of the child
(recommended for infants up to 8 kg or 18 lb., or
until they can sit unaided). Suction cups on the
bottom of the seat keep it from slip slidin’ away.
Originally from France, the Daphné is now marketed
in Canada by two Thornhill, Ontario moms, Judith
Berman and Leanne Segall. |

Give
Baby the Best Seat in the Tub
by A.D.
What parent, faced with bathing a slippery newborn,
hasn’t wished for an extra hand? The
Daphné Bath
Seat is designed to give you one. The seat holds
your baby securely so you have the freedom to use
both hands to wash and rinse her. The seat cradles
her on all sides and has an adjustable ledge to keep
her from sliding down. As well, two strong suction
cups hold the bath seat firmly in place in a bathtub
or sink.
Designed for infants up to eight months old or eight
kilograms, the seat is lightweight, portable and
comes in three colours. |

Splish Splash
In the bath, some babies are as slippery as a bar of
soap- that’s why those little infants bathtubs were
invented. For parents who want to add an extra
measure of safety, there’s the Daphné
Bath Seat.
It’s compact enough to fit into most sinks (and even
infant baths) and its unique contoured design holds
babies securely in a semi-reclined position, without
the need for a seat belt. (Of course, you should
never leave babies unattended.) A slide-stop can be
moved up or down according to the size of the child
(recommended for infants up to 8 kg or 18lbs., or
until they can sit unaided). Suction cups on the
bottom keep it from slip slidin’ away.
Originally from France, the Daphné is now marketed
in Canada by two Thornhill, Ontario moms, Judith
Berman and Leanne Segal. |
